Herb Pope scored 27 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lift Seton Hall past Providence 109-106 in the first round of the Big East Tournament at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night. Seton Hall couldn't cover as 6-point favorites, while the teams played OVER the 165.5-point total set by sportsbooks. Jordan Theodore had 21 points and six assists for the Pirates, who got 18 points from Jeremy Hazell in the win. Jamine Peterson put up 38 points and 16 boards for Providence, while Bilal Dixon went for 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Friars. |
